I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning to crank out that Stern Jaws article before driving into Manhattan for my annual cardiologist appointment. For those of you who don't know, I had two major emergency heart bypasses three months apart for aortic aneurysms in 2017.
Anyhow, when I got home, I had a BIG surprise waiting for me from Spooky Pinball 👻. Now I knew that I was in line to get the next prototype part of some other clue about its next pinball machine pretty soon, but I had no idea that it would be this big. I suspect that this may be the clue that finally gives us a good idea about what their next pinball machine's theme is.
So...let's open it together. I don't normally do Facebook Lives, but since I took the rest of the day off from work for the doctor stuff let's open this bad boy live on Facebook today at 1:00 PM Eastern time. Live in the Knapp Arcade. Hope to see you there!
Thanks to all the fine folks at Spooky Pinball for making this fun event happen :)
UPDATE: Here's a picture of the part. If you think you know what this is, let me know because I have no idea 😂 . I'll share some more pictures of it in a little bit, I'm still cleaning up all of the packing peanuts.
Here's a link to the unboxing video. It was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone for stopping by!
OK here's a few more pictures. To me, it sort of looks like the piece that Don's Pinball Podcast received fits into the piece that I received. His piece also sort of looks like a chainsaw. Texas Chainsaw Massacre maybe? I'm throwing darts here 😂

Here's the piece that was sent to Don:

To give you some perspective on the size of this thing, I'm six feet tall.

Where their Sea Wolf divers stood out from the crowd with a pop of color, the link brand's dress offerings, like this Triple Date Moon Phase reference 742-908, stand out in quality and attention AI Dev Tools to detail for their price point. This is not a watch we see very often but is certainly special and truly surprised me in the metal. Wearing it around the office for a few days, link the watch reminds me that there is so much more to the world of watches beyond Patek, Rolex, and the rest.
That long, thin slot on top is going to have a chainsaw comes out of it (from the back box) towards the player!
Hey brother, hope Doc app went well --> take care of that ticker brother, we all love you very much man and admire all you do for the pinball community --> take it easy brother, play some more pin --> pump some tunes and keep hangin in strong my man. Much love, big fan of the site I check it all the time, and stay up man hope to see ya soon --> Cheers brother, Walt Wood WPG
I would be curious to know if Don's part would slot into yours. Maybe the two tabs on his fitting into your two grooves, so if your's was a back panel, his could be part of an upper playfield. 🤔
Or if it went behind, the other parts (Cary Hardy's and Zach Meny's) could be attached guides bringing the ball back around from behind to the playfield again. Who knows? Fun to speculate though.
Weren't there parts that had a motor and sliding bookcase door? Could control how a ball could leave or enter a playfield or behind the back panel area.
a backboard? to the playfield?
