Wow, the fellas at the LoserKid Pinball podcast have been super busy this week. A couple of days ago I shared their interview with Keith Elwin on Stern Pinball's new cornerstone game King Kong - Myth of Terror Island. Today I have yet another manufacturer interview from them, a discussion with David van Es and Brian Savage from Barrels of Fun.
Josh and Scott from LoserKid get into great depth with the Barrels folks about their brand new game, based on the new 2021 and 2024 Dune movies, starring an all-star cast, that includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Dave Bautista. Make sure to check out the video below or their podcast for all that information and a walkthrough of the game.
Let's take a look at the Dune production schedule. Games are on the production line right now. Barrels has two Dune pinball machines shipping out to locations this week, but the games on the line won't ship quickly because the early run will go through extensive testing at the factory.
Barrels has stated that it plans to have all 1,000 Dune machines built before the end of 2025, at a rate of around 6 per day or 20 to 30 per week - according to the interview.
They plan to have at least two Dune machines at the upcoming Pinfest show which takes place on May 2nd and 3rd in Allentown, Pennsylvania (https://www.pinfestival.com/). Unfortunately, I have to work on Friday, but I'm hoping to attend the show on Saturday.
Towards the end of the interview, Barrels got into a little more depth about their plans for the future. They area little more than one year into the Company's 10 year Business Plan.
They are currently expanding their facility to include space next door, which was recently vacated by their neighbor. The plan is to use the space to increase Barrels of Fun's vertical integration to improve the timeliness and quality of the parts in games. They like having the redundancy of multiple supply chains for parts.
Barrels currently has three pinball machines in "active development" and signed licenses for six IPs.

Game looks great! Something different with a cool mech. Cannot wait to play! Not your typical Stern look that's for sure. I wish them success in this one.
