Barrels of Fun Pinball Update…Production Rate, Status of Next Game

I have a quick update on Barrels of Fun Pinball for you all (or y’all depending upon what part of the World you’re in).

I unfortunately was unable to make it to the awesome Pintastic New England show this year because my son has sports that I don’t like to miss and I had a NJ Arcade Collectors party to go to last night. In past years Pintastic has broadcast the event’s seminars. I can’t find them this year, but a friend of mine attended the Barrels of Fun seminar.

According to what he told me, the Barrels folks said that the Company’s next game is already a flipping whitewood. I haven’t heard a peep about what the theme of this next game is, which isn’t surprising because Barrels did a good job keeping a tight lid on leaks for game one. There was talk a few months ago that the Company’s next game will be based on The Fifth Element, but it seems less and less likely that is actually true.

Also from yesterday’s seminar, I was told that Barrels believes they will sell out the 1,100 unit run of Labyrinth. They are currently manufacturing 4-5 games per day.

Alas, that’s all the info from the presentation I have because I wasn’t there. That’s still some really interesting stuff. I know that they were taping the presentations so hopefully Pintastic uploads them to their YouTube channel soon so I can find out more.

I played it a couple of weeks ago, very polished, the plunge was weak but that may have been an issue just with this machine. If it had been a desirable theme would have bought on day one. Hopefully their next one is such a theme but can't fault this one. If the movie meant something to you, this is your jam.

Supposed to be receiving mine this month, or when cointaker gets their next shipment from BOF.

Been pushed back a bit, but if that means higher quality, and code issues fixed, then I'll have to wait patiently

Yeah there’s always a fine line between wanting to be one of the first people to have a game and waiting until all of the kinks are worked out. Ultimately, over the long run it’s better to wait but it sure is hard to do so lol.
