This morning, the pinball manufacturer Barrels of Fun shared a teaser for its upcoming second game.
The clue in the post, specifically “There’s a new beast in pinball - and it shakes” along with a picture of a “Thunder From Down Under” shaker motor certainly fit with the rumored theme for the upcoming game, Dune. They definitely fit better with Dune than with the other rumored title that I personally didn’t believe, The Goonies.
“Want to know what's coming with the next machine?
Thunder From Down Under-Included!
There's a new beast in pinball - and it shakes.
Best Value in Pinball”

I’ve been sitting on this one for a few days, but it’s out there now so, former Stern Pinball programmer Tim Sexton has moved to the arcade company Play Mechanix as a Senior Software Programmer.
Tim had been with Stern Pinball since 2018, acting as Lead Game Developer on several games, including John Wick, Black Knight Sword of Rage, Led Zeppelin and Rush.
Congratulations to Tim on his new position.
Last up we have Spooky Pinball. You know I never miss an opportunity to share a pinball production photo.
Yesterday afternoon, Spooky shared a cool picture of its latest game, Evil Dead, on the production line.
“Sorry for the lack of social media action! We have been buried building all these games we sold! Production expansion has begun and we are in the thick of it!
So here's a messy photo of our production line :)“

Mad Max as a theme?
I honestly didn’t receive this as being tied to their next title at all, only their clue we branding/naming for the BoF shaker motor. Looks cooler than the big white plastic block in Saran Wrap. 👍🥴
Mad Max Fury Road is possible also
