Funspot - Laconia, NH (October 2018)

Updated: Aug 26, 2021

Greetings from New Hampshire, home of the self-proclaimed “World’s Largest Arcade” Funspot. The location certainly lives up to its name, fun.

Rob Miller and I took a road trip up for the day to check it out. We got here at 2:30 in the afternoon. We each put one single twenty dollar bill in the token machine. That’s it. I kid you not, we left here at 11:30 PM and had to work hard to finish using all of the tokens. What an amazing deal.

Like many arcades, a few of the games were a little worn or had an issue here and there, but for the most part the vast majority of the games were in working order AND even better we played until out arms fell off for twenty bucks and never had to wait to play a game once. You can’t beat that!

Funspot has the rarest of the rare video games, Quantum, Major Havoc, Mad Planets, Food Fight, Zoo Keeper, Death Race... for vids, you name it, it was here.

The pin selection wasn’t quite as robust, but it was still a blast. I got to play a ton of pins that I’d never tried before. The massive Hercules was here. I even put up the number one score in the world...OK the 15 scores in the Pindigo world...on Atari’s wide-body pin Middle Earth.

We had a great time. If you’re within driving distance, Funspot is definitely worth the trip.
