Never Before Seen Concept Art & More - "Making of Jim Henson's Labyrinth Pinball Machine!"

Back in the day, my boys and I used to love watching the Discovery Chanel Show "Myth Busters." Adam Savage of Myth Busters and other fame also has a YouTube channel that has nearly 6.5 Million subscribers. An hour or so ago, Adam released a new video on his channel called "Making of Jim Henson's Labyrinth Pinball Machine!"

Wow, what a great way to get more exposure for the pinball hobby. The video starts off with Barrels of Fun's Pinball Art Director Johnny Fraser-Allen showing off some of the concept art from very early on in the five-year journey that it took to produce the Labyrinth pinball machine. They then bring in Barrels of Fun's CEO David van Es to tell about the making of the machine itself. The story about how the whole project came together is fascinating.

At the end of the video, Barrels of Fun's Chief Business Officer Brian Savage came on to talk about the amazing Labyrinth topper. This is the first time that I personally have been able to take a really close look at it. It's amazing how much work went into designing this machine.

I have embedded the cool video and a bunch of screen grabs of the early concept art below:

Our friendship with artist Johnny Fraser-Allen comes full circle as he reveals the Jim Henson's Labyrinth pinball machine that he's been art directing for the past five years--a job he got after pinball makers Barrels of Fun watched his first Tested video he filmed with us back in 2017! Johnny and the team at Barrels of Fun walk Adam through the making of this incredible machine and how it captures the storytelling and rich landscapes of the classic film!
