The European Pinball manufacturer Pinball Brothers announced yesterday afternoon that it has shipped the first ABBA pinball machines and that the game is now entering full production.
Yesterday also brought us a surprise code update for Stern Pinball's Deadpool, which I own so it's an extra pleasant surprise.
The update introduces the new “Beezerker Boom” feature to the game. Below is a description. It sounds like Stern wanted to place more emphasis on Wolverine in the game, which makes sense given the recent release of Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters.
“New: - BERSERKER BOOM - During BESERKER RAGE mode, the lit BOOM button awards the BERSERKER BOOM value in addition to collecting the highest value lit shot on the playfield. - During BESERKER RAGE mode, when the BOOM button is lit for a Super BOOM, the BOOM button will award 4X BERSERKER BOOM value in addition to collecting all of the lit shots on the playfield. - The BERSERKER BOOM value is the maximum spin session value awarded during the current BESERKER RAGE mode. - Added new Wolverine speech to BERSERKER RAGE.”
Stern also rolled out the new mode for Godzilla that it promised when it launched the new Black & White 70th Anniversary machine for all customers. It contains the new "King of the Monsters Challenge Mode" as well as the usual" additional polish, game adjustments, and bug fixes."
Last up we have Homepin. The company shared a couple of pictures of its upcoming Blues Brothers pinball machine on Facebook yesterday.
Homepin also shared additional information on how the game’s code will work:
“We have been asked about the Blues Brothers software many times. To clear things up, the machine will be supplied with software that our game testers are happy shows the machine in the best possible light and makes full use of a couple of features never before seen in pinball. Nothing needs to be done to enjoy Blues Brothers Pinball as it is supplied.
The software will be available on the Blues Brothers forum for owners to download and modify or completely re-write IF THEY WISH (it is Arduino based). This is NOT required however, it will be made available for those who like to play with software/rules/game play. They can then submit changed software to the site for others to use IF THEY WISH. Any software submitted will be carefully screened and tested before it is shared.
We look forward to showing our prototype at Newcastle Pinfest next month. Please fell free to have a game or ask questions about BBros if you are coming to this charity event.”
