Happy Friday everyone! OK, well it's not quite Friday yet, but why wait on good pinball news when you have it? So I'm publishing this post a little early :)
Let’s start things off today with a new rumor. The always knowledgeable Pinside user “mnpinball,” who most recently brought us the correct rumor that Dune was the next pinball machine from Barrels of Fun, wrote the following in the Harry Potter discussion earlier today:
Just heard top model CE is now capped at 1000 units. FOMO is back.
Originally JJP was telling people that the Harry Potter Collector’s Edition would have no limit on the number of games built. They said that they would build as many games as were ordered before a specific deadline. If this new rumor is true, it could be a big deal because chances are that demand for a game based on such a big license will be strong.
Next up, the lost Stern Pinball video about the art for its Dungeons & Dragons pinball machine has been found. Thank you to the people who sent me the link. For some reason, after sharing it on Facebook Stern took it down and made the YouTube video unlisted.
It’s a shame that the video isn’t out there because I loved it. Vincent Proce’s art on the game is fantastic and the video really shows off how passionate he was about making it.
I have embedded the unlisted video below for those who want to check it out.
There’s been a lot of talk about Pinball Brothers’ upcoming Predator pinball machine lately. When I spoke with them the other day they told me that they have a release date and they will present it “pretty soon actually.”
So when exactly will that be? Earlier this week Michael Mattsson aka DRI374 on YouTube reached out to me with his guess…and it’s a good one - June 12th.
That is the date that the film was released in movie theaters back in 1987. Its anniversary this year isn’t a round number, it’s the 38th, but a release on the same day the movie came out does make a lot of sense.
