Spooky Pinball Teases A New Dual-Theme Pin: Texas Chainsaw Massacre Pinball & Looney Tunes

Updated: Dec 6, 2023

This morning Spooky Pinball shared a brief post on its Facebook page that said "5:00 PM." I'm sitting here at three minutes to 6:00 PM Eastern time ready to go. Let's see what they have in store for us...

Well, here it is Spooky uploaded a brief, mostly audio teaser to its YouTube page that confirms the long-standing rumor that its next pinball machine is based on the horror film "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." I would assume that it is based on the original 1974 classic film rather than the 2022 remake (which coincidentally I saw the other day while flipping through the channels...yes I still have cable, I know). The caption at the end of the video mentions 1974 (see below) so that hits at the original as well.

Based on the brief caption for the video, "December 8th," we're all going to find out the details on the game on Friday!

There's a second video that teases a Looney Tunes pinball machine. So the Halloween / Ultraman-esque Dual-Themed pin rumor for the next game was true. I guess we're going to get to see two new games, one TCM game and one Looney Tunes game on Friday. Awesome!

A new update by Spooky stated that, Looney Tunes and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be limited to 888 units EACH.

According to the distributor PinballSTAR Amusements, there will be three versions of each game, a Collector's Edition, a Bloodsuckers Edition and a Standard Edition.

Information continues to trickle out as the evening progresses...

"1 full development team for Looney Tunes🥕 1 full development team for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre🩸

2 completely different rule sets and development teams!!!!"

"Full 1974 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film assets"

"20+ Golden Era Loomey Tunes Episodes"

"Eric Priepke on Looney Tunes code

Benjamin Heckendorn on TCM code"

How fun is this learning about the game and taking about it in real time? I love this stuff!

Hmm, I wonder does having 2 engineers mean that there will be different playfields? Or maybe the same whitewood base, but different toys, ramps, etc.?
