I'm a sucker for badges and achievements. Now that the Steam Deck has come out, I've literally bought games that I already own on my Nintendo Switch just to get the Steam Achievements. I don't know what it is, but even though rationally I know that they're worthless, I feel like I'm accomplishing something by getting achievements.
That's one of the reasons that I go achievement hunting on Insider Connected for Stern pinball machines. I find it to be addictive. This morning Stern pinball launched a whole slew of new Insider Connected badges for its new Foo Fighters pinball machine. Registered Insider Connected players who play a Foo Fighters pin on the day of one of the bands tour stops receive a special badge for their account. Each badge has neat custom art. I'll tell you right now that if I owned a Foo Fighters machine, you can bet that I'd make sure that I get every single one of these. Players who get them all receive a special "Tour Saved" achievement badge. Cool idea.
