Stern Pinball Metallica Remake / Vault May Be Coming Sooner Than Expected.

Good morning everyone. Whew, it’s been a long day already. I’m writing to you from the waiting room of my heart surgeon at Lennox Hill Hospital. Don’t worry, it’s just my annual checkup after surgery seven years ago.

The reason I mention it is the drive into Manhattan to get here. A short drive from the suburbs of NJ took two hours. Man if you can drive in the heart of NYC, you can drive anywhere lol. Long drives aren’t fun, but…they’re great for listening to pinball podcasts. I listened to the entirety of the latest episode of The Pinball Show on my drive in.

During the episode, Zach and Dennis talked about a potential hole in Stern Pinball’s production schedule around July. They speculated that said gap might be where Stern will begin producing the long-rumored remake of its popular 2013 John Borg-designed game Metallica.

Initially I thought that we were likely to see some sort of Metallica pin from Stern, be it a Vault or a remake, in the Fall around the time of Pinball Expo. However there has been a lot of rumbling lately that Metallica may be coming sooner, partially as a result of the relatively slow sales of John Wick.

So that’s the Rumor Du Juor…look for Stern Metallica in July.

I’m headed back out of NYC now and headed to Newark Airport for a trip to Chicago to visit all of the amazing arcades there like Galloping Ghost, Logan Arcade and Enterrium and to check out Stern Pinball’s new factory. I’m looking forward to sharing pictures of all the amazing things there. Stay tuned…
