I just wanted to drop a quick note here to thank everyone who has stopped by and read, commented and hung out to talk about pinball and arcade stuff lately. I've been really enjoying all of the great conversations that we've had and things that we've been able to learn together.
Here's a little State of the Union so to speak for the Knapp Arcade website and social media pages:
Over the past year, website visits are up 203% to 321,600.
Over the past 30 days, website traffic is up 50% to 40,592 site ssssions with 52,185 post views.
On the social media side of things, the Knapp Arcade Facebook page is closing in on 11,000 followers at 10,926. I've been really active on Facebook but I've been slacking on Instagram. I haven't made any visits to new arcades lately so I haven't had the pictures for IG like I was sharing. Still the Instagram account is at 7,132 followers. I need to make a concerted effort to get back into the swing of things there.
Today my first Podast in years came out. I was a guest on Don's Pinball Podcast. I have a couple more podcast guest appearances in the works. This should enable me to perfect using my new equipment, make sure the volume levels are all good, create some drops and stuff like that. If I can keep the momentum I am indeed strongly considering starting my own Podcast. I'm still trying to zero in on what I would want a Knapp Arcade Podcast to be like, but I think that I would like it to be guest-heavy. It's always really fun to talk with others about pinball and arcade stuff. That's what this is all about. I've also considered doing quick burst podcasts that are basically just recaps of recent news without a lot of fluff. As you can see, I'm still batting around ideas and am always open to feedback and suggestions.
I plan on keeping all of the Knapp Arcade pages free for the foreseeable future. I'm in a fortunate position that I would rather use this platform to do another fundraiser like we did for St. Jude's Children's Hospital the past than put the website completely behind a paywall. If I was to do something to raise revenue, I'd probably just open a tip jar or something like that. We'll see.
Everyone has a lot of ups and downs in life, from losing family members to health issues and this hobby in general and Knapp Arcade in particular have been there for me over the past several years as a healthy way to have fun with the friends that I'm making every day in the hobby and take my mind off of things. This stuff keeps me out of trouble so to speak lol.
So from the bottom of my heart thanks to everyone for hanging out. Have a great 4th of July!
Let me take this chance to say: Jason, you are doing a great job here, I check everyday this website to get the latest news and rumours. Thanks a lot and keep it up. Regards from Barcelona, Spain. Oscar.
