This morning Stern Pinball sent out the latest issue of its regular Stern of the Union newsletter. The e-mail contained a link to the site where Stern Insider Connected members can purchase a small portion of the 811 Limited Edition machines of its upcoming cornerstone game The Uncanny X-Men directly from the Company. Interestingly, LE game #811 will be "will be randomly assigned to a lucky All-Access purchaser!"
The top of the page shows a countdown timer for when the LEs go on sale. It appears to be counting down to 1:00 PM Eastern time tomorrow.
Over the weekend, Jack Danger, the new X-Men game's designer shared the following picture of what appears to be the game's whitewood on his Facebook page:
In other Stern pinball news, I recently heard a rumor that the artist for the upcoming Metallica Remastered remake of Stern's 2013 pinball machine Metallica likely featuring the new Spike 3 board system and Live concert footage, will be Zombie Yeti. The artist for the original Metallica pin was Dirty Donny, but Stern Pinball has not worked with him in many years.
The designer for Jersey Jack Pinball's upcoming Avatar pinball machine strongly hinted on Pinside recently that the music for the game is being done by Stemage Music, the same people who did the music for his homebrew Metroid pinball machine and a number of other video game companies. Below is a link to Stemage's website for people who want to hear what they sound like.
On a related note, minutes ago, Jersey Jack shared another picture of its upcoming pinball machine Avatar on its Facebook page. Additionally, over the weekend an anonymous e-mailer sent out a third picture of Jersey Jack Pinball's to the pinball media outlet Kineticist. The picture shows a physical 3-ball lock under the game's playfield and some of the art.
Last week I wrote about how Stern Pinball will begin selling its new Jurassic Park Home Edition Plus pinball machine through select Costco outlets and on-line. The product is now up on the Costco website.
As I mentioned in my previous article, the Costco price for the game is listed as $4,999. However, people have reported seeing the pin at physical Costco locations on sale for $4,799. Also, Costco appears to provide purchasers with a discount for purchasing multiple items:
"Costco Direct Savings
Purchase multiple Costco Direct items on the same order to receive additional savings. Items must ship to the same address to receive savings.
Buy 2 Items, Save $100
Buy 3 Items, Save $200
Buy 4 Items, Save $300
Buy 5 or more Items, Save $400"
The Costco executive membership reward is worth $100 on that item.
Not sure how Jeremy can even lift his hands at this point, with Stern having him do basically EVERY GAME LAUNCH there is, anymore.
