The Wait for Harry Potter Pinball May Be Longer Than You Think

Back in mid-May 2023, the pinball industry veteran Joe Kaminkow shared a strange post on Facebook leaking that Jersey Jack Pinball had secured the license for the iconic film series Harry Potter.
Fast forward to March of 2025 and Jersey Jack Pinball’s founder Jack Guarnieri officially confirmed for the first time that JJP is indeed making the game.
So we’ve known that Harry Potter pinball is coming for a long time now. Naturally with such a huge title, all sorts of rumors swirl around during the wait for the game. One was that JJP spent a whopping $5 Million to secure the rights for the game (I have no idea if that is true).
Another rumor that proved to not be true was that the game was to be teased or officially revealed on Harry Potter day, Friday May 2nd. I never believed that one. I thought that it was too early. Now we all know that it was.
This begs the question, when will this highly anticipated pinball machine be officially revealed? According to the latest rumors that I have heard, we may still have to wait a while. There’s talk that the game won’t be ready for a month or two at the earliest.
The rumor, and I need to emphasize that’s what this is, is that Jersey Jack had art that they believed was approved by at least Warner Brothers and began manufacturing cabinets and playfields for Harry Potter, only to be told that the creator of the series JK Rowling insisted that changes be made to the art. So, JJP had to scrap what it had made, redo the art and get new approval. Once that process is complete, it can begin building machines again with the new art.
My one to two months estimate as to when the game will actually launch may prove to be optimistic. Some people have told me that they don’t think that it will be ready until July or August.
Whether these rumors are true, and again they are just rumors, remains to be seen - but it’s pretty clear at this point that Harry Potter pinball has experienced unexpected delays. I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of the game. I can’t wait to see it.
