The designer of Stern Pinball's recent game The Uncanny X-Men, announced over the weekend that a major software revamp is in the works for the game. The new team working on that improved code will include the designer - Jack Danger, Mike Vinikour, Corey Stup and George Gomez.
I've loved the layout for this game since I saw it at Stern Pinball's HQ last year, but it is widely accepted at this point that the code has been a miss. This plan to rework the code has been in place at least since I initially heard about it in early April, so hopefully code updates start rolling out sooner than one might think. Stern is expected to make an official announcement about the new code "soon."

And now Danger seems to have deleted the post. People seemed to be really getting their hopes up now. Gotta under-promise and over-deliver.
Good thing they got the Vinikour crew, whatever crew was on it last needs to retire from making pinball rules forever cause that crap is BOOOOOORING
No amount of code can save the gimmicky layout and setup issues most of them face. Even with all the Stern kits, good luck getting the game dialed in to play correctly consistently.
I'm interested to see how much they can really change, especially with how many audio/video assets they already paid to make. The game has a very sterile feel to it. It def needs a lot more moments to feel like something worthwhile was accomplished. (Even just end of mode cash out shots for some big points/stop the ball for fan fare, ala Deadpool, would help a lot)
